From the Bronze Age to the XXI Century

Georgia is home to some fascinating museums. The selection is quite diverse too. Here you can find historical, cultural, art, folk, musical instruments and literature, to name a few. Entrance fees are low in Tbilisi and the rest of the country when compared to other European cities – some are even free!

History & Ethnography Museum in Svanety

Mestia’s excellent main museum ranges over treasures, manuscripts, weaponry, jewelry, and historical photos – all well displayed, and labelled in English and Georgian.

The National Museum in the capital city

Museum houses several permanent exhibitions, but the most significant of them all is the Archaeological Treasury.

Tbilisi Museum of Ethnography

Lies on the road towards Turtle Lake in Tbilisi. There are 70 examples of different traditional Georgian buildings spread over 65 hectares of land.
